Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our 3D brick, slate and stone effect wall panels — installation, sizing, durability and care.

About K&B Panels

What are 3D wall panels and what are they made of?

K&B panels are lightweight 3D wall panels designed to replicate real brick, stone, slate, wood or marble. They use a flame-retardant EPS foam core with a durable mineral coating, giving the look of masonry without the weight, mess or cost.

Do the panels look realistic up close?

Yes. Panels feature a 3D textured mineral surface (not printed), designed to look natural both up close and from a distance.

Are K&B panels real brick or just a brick effect?

They are decorative brick effect panels designed to visually replicate real masonry once installed.

Are colour variations normal?

Yes. Natural variation in tone and texture is intentional to replicate real materials.

How do K&B panels compare to real brick or stone?

They are around 85% lighter, install 60–80% faster, need no structural work and cost less.

Installation & Application

How do you install 3D wall panels?

K&B panels are designed for DIY installation using basic tools and adhesive. No specialist trades are required. A typical feature wall takes 2–4 hours.

Do I need a professional installer?

No. Most customers install the panels themselves. Professional installation is optional.

What surfaces can 3D wall panels be fitted to?

Panels can be applied to almost any surface including plasterboard, brick, concrete, tiles, wood and existing panelling.

Can the panels be cut?

Yes. Panels can be cut with a utility knife or hand saw to fit around sockets and edges.

Do I need grout or mortar?

No. Panels are fixed edge-to-edge with adhesive. Small joins can be filled with acrylic caulk if required.

Will the panels damage my walls?

Panels are semi-permanent. Removal is possible but may require some wall repair depending on the surface.

Can you use 3D wall panels in a rented flat or house?

Yes, with landlord permission. Installation requires no drilling or structural changes.
